A Rehearsal Dinner Full of Toasts, Tears, & Laughter

We kicked off the weekend at the Duke Mansion, where Henry and Bri hosted their rehearsal dinner surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Normally, I’m there for about an hour of rehearsal dinner coverage, but this couple and their families wanted it ALL captured! So we spent three hours soaking up heartfelt toasts, belly laughs, and the kind of candid moments that only happen when everyone’s finally in one place together.

After dinner, there was a casual welcome party at a friend’s house. Drinks were flowing, music was playing, and people were mingling; it was the perfect way to set the tone for the weekend.

Getting Ready at Myers Park Country Club

The wedding day started at Myers Park Country Club, and the energy in the bridal suite was pure joy. Bri’s bridesmaids had her laughing nonstop while her mom helped with those quiet, emotional moments. Henry and the guys spent the morning cracking jokes and keeping things light, creating the best kind of energy to start the day.

Getting ready is where having a second shooter is a game-changer. While I was focused on the bride and bridesmaids, my second was with Henry and the groomsmen, capturing their side of the story.

Ceremony at Christ Episcopal Church

Before heading to the church, Henry and Bri shared their first look on the terrace. The second he turned around, his face lit up with the biggest smile, and you could feel all the nerves melt away. They laughed, hugged tight, and took a quiet walk together before the day picked up again. It was the sweetest pause in the middle of their wedding weekend.

The ceremony at Christ Episcopal Church felt straight out of a movie. Grand architecture, sunlight streaming through stained glass, and Henry’s reaction as Bri walked down the aisle were priceless. This is where the 10 hours of coverage mattered most. We weren’t rushing; we had space to breathe. Every vow, every prayer, every quiet smile, their first look—they’re all in their gallery now.

Cocktail Hour + Reception at Myers Park Country Club

Back at Myers Park Country Club, cocktail hour was in full swing. Guests sipping cocktails on the terrace and golden light pouring through the trees, it was dreamy. And because my second shooter was fully on it, Henry & Bri got to experience cocktail hour through photos (since they spent most of that time finishing portraits with me).

By the time the reception started, the dance floor was alive. The Emerald Empire Band had everyone on their feet, and Henry’s goofy side came out in full force. Bri was glowing—joyful, radiant, surrounded by people who clearly adore her. I stayed through the very last send-off so they could look back and see their whole story, start to finish.
