I was a bride-to-be not too long ago, (in 2022 to be exact!). So I totally understand the confusion and overwhelm when choosing the right photographer for your wedding day! There is a lot to look at and consider; like their style, their vibe, their pricing, etc. However, there’s one thing I always recommend being on the lookout for when scouring through packages; whether an engagement session is included. For my clients, engagement sessions are always a part of the experience of working with me. Here is why it’s so important to have an engagement session with your selected wedding photographer.

One thing I love about engagement sessions is meeting my couples in real life! We’ve already had our discovery call and vibed via Google Meet, but call me old school; there’s nothing like an in-person meeting! It allows me to get to know you, your personalities, chemistry, and how you work together both in front of the camera and not. Believe it or not, this information is crucial for me in photographing your big day authentically and capturing your true spirit, chemistry, and personality! 

Getting Comfy

Everyone feels a little uncomfortable in front of the camera for the first time, it’s normal! So that is why I always recommend engagement sessions being the place to warm up in front of the camera, instead of on your wedding day. It may feel unnatural for you at first, but after a few minutes, my couples are giggling and having the best time with one another, forgetting I’m even there! During your session, you will realize that it’s not as stressful or daunting as you may think. I guarantee you will leave saying, “Wow that wasn’t so bad!”. My goal is that your engagement session feels like the perfect date night! 

Saves Us Time 

Since we’ve already worked together when your wedding day comes around, we’re a dream team! You know how I work, I know your personality, you remember certain poses, and I get to capture all the magic.
