There’s something incredibly special about getting to walk alongside a couple for every part of their wedding season—from the excitement of engagement photos, to the beauty of bridals, and the celebration of their vows. Katy and Noah’s wedding journey was one of those experiences that reminded me why I love what I do. Every session with them was filled with laughter, trust, and intentional connection, and their South Carolina wedding at Glassy Chapel was no exception.

A Perfectly Planned Celebration

The day started at her parents’ apartment, where everyone was calm, excited, and ahead of schedule. Hair and makeup wrapped up right on time, and we were able to ease into the day without feeling rushed. From emotional first looks with her dad and bridesmaids, to sweet moments in the garden outside, every part of the morning felt intentional.

Their first touch at Glassy Chapel and the private exchange of letters was one of my favorite moments. It was quiet, heartfelt, and exactly what they needed to center themselves before the ceremony.

The ceremony itself was sacred and stunning. The light, the view, the Spirit, it all came together in the most beautiful way. Afterward, we kept things moving with family photos, bridal party shots, and portraits of Katy and Noah (with a guest appearance by their sweet pup, Reese!).

As the sun set, we made our way to The L for the reception. Between first dances, heartfelt toasts, and a dance floor that stayed full all night, the fun just kept going. And in true thoughtful fashion, they ended the night with a private last dance. Just the two of them, taking in the joy of the day before stepping into married life.

If you’ve never been to The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel, let me paint the picture: it’s perched high in the mountains with sweeping views that truly take your breath away. The ceremony space itself is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, so the light pours in and the natural beauty becomes part of the moment. It’s no surprise this venue is so well known and loved, it’s peaceful, elegant, and truly unforgettable.

The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel sits atop a mountain ridge in South Carolina, framed by leafless trees and a bright blue sky.

Here’s something to keep in mind if you’re considering Glassy Chapel: it’s a high-demand venue and only allows a 3-hour reservation. That means your timeline needs to be on point. You’re in and out fairly quickly, and that can be a challenge unless your photographer knows how to balance creativity with efficiency. (Hi, that’s me!) Thankfully, Katy was incredibly organized, which made everything flow so smoothly. We had a plan, we stuck to it, and we still made space for beautiful, candid moments along the way.

“So hard to even begin!!!! These are BEAUTIFUL. We were out of town this weekend for a mountain weekend with friends and it was killinggggg me to wait til we got back yesterday evening for Noah and I to sit down and look through our gallery! From Engagement to “I Do”: A Photographer’s Dream Experience

One of the biggest honors of this wedding was getting to walk with Katy and Noah through every step of the journey. We started with their engagement session (also at Glassy!), which helped us get comfortable with the space and each other before the wedding day.
